ORCHID dissection

We based our project on the abstraction of an orchid dissection.

An orchid is composed of layers, textures, and a certain rhythm of density (from its core to the petals). We obtained the sections of the orchid creating a plaster box with an orchid inside and then making continuous cuts. The 3d forms that were obtained from the transversal and longitudinal sections demonstrate how density flows within an orchid.

This video shows the time lapse of an orchid blooming.
