First assignment - George V. and Adrian Von der Osten

Our initial component began as a single line whose inflections where manipulated per duplication to allowing for moments of compression and expansion.
Lofting these lines encapsulated the spatial configuration and upon mirroring, all the guiding lines
remained fixed historically to both surfaces, allowing for global manipulation.

ORCHID dissection

We based our project on the abstraction of an orchid dissection.

An orchid is composed of layers, textures, and a certain rhythm of density (from its core to the petals). We obtained the sections of the orchid creating a plaster box with an orchid inside and then making continuous cuts.The 3d forms that were obtained from the transversal and longitudinal sections demonstrate how density flows within an orchid.

This video shows the time lapse of an orchid blooming.

MAYA transformation/morph project - Chris Mejia

<------------- This is the start of my transformation/morph project. I used the concept of a woman's body; eventually, it turned into two snakes. I used the 'curve' tool to create the snake like lines, and modified the heights of some of the lines using the 'channel box/layer editor'. Finally, I used the 'loft' tool to give it a surface.

The transformation. --------------->
I used the 'NURBS plane' tool to create a surface in between my two snakes. I then used the 'Universal Manipulator' and the 'Soft Modification' tool to morph these structures to create shelter and seating. Finally, I used 'NURBS cube' to create more seating.
